PDF Send transfers PDF files directly between your own devices over your local
Wi-Fi network. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not collect.
Your files
They stay on your devices. When you share a PDF, PDF Send runs a
small web server on your phone and serves the file directly to the other device on
your local network. Your files are never uploaded to us or to any cloud
service.
Receiving works the same way. A PDF sent from your computer is
saved on your phone and copied into your Downloads folder so you can
find it in your file manager. It does not leave your device.
PDF tools run entirely on your device. Compress, merge, split,
password-protect and preview all process your files locally, on your phone. Nothing
is sent anywhere, and the results are stored only in the app's own folder.
They are excluded from Android backups. The app opts out of
Android's automatic cloud backup, so your PDFs are not copied to Google Drive.
No account, no sign-in. PDF Send has no accounts and never asks
for your name, email address or contacts.
Advertising
Android only. The free version of PDF Send on
Android shows ads supplied by Google AdMob.
The iOS version shows no ads.
To serve and measure those ads, AdMob collects your device's
advertising ID together with device information (model, operating
system, language, coarse region derived from your IP address) and ad-interaction
data, and shares it with Google. Google may use it for ad delivery, measurement and
fraud prevention.
In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland you are asked for consent
before any personalised ads are served. If you decline, PDF Send does not request
ads. You can change your choice at any time from
Settings → Ad privacy options.
Ad content is limited to the “General audiences” (G) rating.
Upgrading to Pro removes all ads.
Analytics
Android only. The Android version uses Google Firebase
Analytics to understand basic, aggregated usage — for example which features
are used and general app performance — so we can improve the app.
Firebase collects an app-instance identifier and standard device
and event information (such as app version, device model, operating system and coarse
region derived from your IP address) and processes it on Google's servers. See the
Firebase Privacy and Security
documentation.
It is not linked to your name or an account (the app has none), and
your PDFs are never included.
The iOS version includes no analytics — it is not configured and
collects nothing of this kind.
Permissions
Files — used only so you can pick the PDF you want to send,
through your device's system file picker. PDF Send does not scan or read your other
files.
Local network / Internet — used to run the on-device server that
transfers your file to the other device, and (in the free version) to load ads.
Nearby devices / Location — requested only if you
turn on the optional offline hotspot feature, because Android requires these
permissions to create a Wi-Fi hotspot. Your physical location is never
read, stored or transmitted. On Android 13 and newer, only the “nearby devices”
permission is used, and it is declared as never being used to derive location.
Data sharing
PDF Send shares your selected file only with the device you point at
the displayed address (or that scans the QR code), and only while the
sharing screen is open. Sharing stops when you leave the screen, press Stop, or the
session expires. You can require a PIN for an extra layer of control.
The only data shared with third parties is the advertising and analytics data
described in the Advertising and Analytics sections
above, and it applies to the Android version only.
Security
Transfers happen over your local network using plain HTTP, so use PDF Send on networks
you trust. Anyone on the same network who has the address — and the PIN, if you enable it
— can download what you are sharing while you are sharing it. Turning the PIN on is
recommended on public or shared Wi-Fi.
Children's privacy
PDF Send is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact us and we will address
it.
Your choices
Change or withdraw ad consent: Settings → Ad privacy options
(shown where consent applies).
Remove ads entirely: upgrade to Pro.
Reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation: your device's
Settings → Google → Ads.
Delete received files: remove them from the app's list and from your Downloads
folder; uninstalling the app removes everything it stored.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the “Last updated” date above will change and the
updated policy will ship with the next app version.
